Research Services

Edmonton Public Schools Archives and Museum offers, free of charge, advice and information about their archival holdings. The Michael A. Kostek Reading Room contains a reference library of yearbooks and textbooks with seating and table space for 12 researchers.

Please note that Archives and Museum staff require notice of information requests in order to collect relevant material for researchers. Please contact us and we will be happy to assist you with your information needs.

Student Records

  • Student records start with the birth year 1894 
  • Archives and Museum receives annual accruals of digitized student records 
  • Individuals who attended an Edmonton Public School and are 30 years of age or older, could potentially have their student record in this archives
  • A student request is subject to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. This ensures the student record is only be released to:
    • The individual identified in the record
    • To an agency on behalf of the individual
    • To a legally authorized person
      • through power of attorney
      • as a trustee of a dependent adult
      • as an executor of an estate
      • as a family member of a deceased individual

To access a student record, please complete the Student Record Request and email a copy to archivesmuseum@epsb.ca
