Time Travel with Archives and Museum
Transport students back in time! We offer three (3) student programs that are free of charge to the Edmonton School Division. (Note: If you are interested in booking for the 2024/25 school year please contact our general office for availability. Pre-booking for the 2025/26 school year will open in June 2025.)
Our student programs demonstrate respect for places and objects of historical significance.
Grade 4
In this role-playing program students enter the 1881 Schoolhouse where they experience schoolhouse lessons of the 1880s in Edmonton's first public school.
A hands-on experience involving activities and 'chores' based on those of the past awaits students when they step into Grandma's Place: A Visit to Grandma's and Grandpa's in the Past.
Grade 6
Students can actively participate in Mr. Puffer Goes to Provincial Parliament: A Study of Government in Perspective, where, through role play and discussion, they compare the first Provincial Parliament (1906) with the government in Alberta today.
Cost
If your school is not part of the Edmonton Public School Division, you will first have to register with the Division's eBase program which will allow you to book one or more student programs. You can find out more about how to register here.
The cost for each program is $200 + GST for non-EPSB schools.
There is no cost to EPSB Schools.
